Mary Anne has worked as a documentary filmmaker for over twenty years. She has been an independent producer/director of docs for 13 of those years. Mary Anne was a producer at CBC’s “The Journal” and prior to that a senior producer at CBC radio’s “Metro Morning”. She started in private broadcasting in 1979.

Mary Anne has just finished producing and directing “The 40 Year Secret” -- a documentary for CBC’s “The Passionate Eye” -- about teenage girls from the 60’s who got pregnant and put their babies up for adoption. It’s a love story that follows one couple’s 40-year attempt to reunite with their daughter.

Deborah Parks is a documentary producer with thirty years experience in television and film. Her career as an independent producer and cinematographer started in 1986, when she and Director/Writer Shelley Saywell set off for the Sahara Desert to document the nomadic Bishari tribes of Egypt.. The film was nominated for two Gemini Awards and Parks went on to win the Canadian Society of Cinematographers award for Best Photography in a Documentary, the first woman in Canada to do so. Since then, Saywell and Parks have collaborated on more than 14 films over the last 23 years, for CBC, CTV, W Network, History TV, Global, with sales to HBO, Channel 4, A&E and ARTE -winning many Canadian and International Industry awards.
